Brockwell
Lido Heritage Lottery Fund bid
Urban Practitioners prepared the successful £500,000 bid to
the Heritage Lottery Fund for the restoration and development of
Brockwell Lido in south London. The Lido is an important local facility,
which was built in the 1930s to provide a ‘seaside experience’ for
local residents who could not afford to travel. It has been developed
to provide state of the art facilities to complement the open air swimming
pool, which will ensure its financialsustainability
for the future. The Lido was reopened by Wesley Kerr, Chair of the
London Committee of the Heritage Lottery Fund in October 2007. |
